Funding and scheme of delegation

Funding and scheme of delegation

How we are funded

As a Trust, we are funded directly by the Department for Education (DfE) via the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA).  The relationship between Newham Community Learning and the ESFA is outlined in our Master Funding Agreement; our Trust’s relationship with each of our schools is outlined in each of the Supplemental Funding Agreements put in place for this purpose.

Master funding agreement (made between the DfE and one of our predecessor organisations – NCST)

Supplemental funding agreement: Eastlea Community School

Supplemental funding agreement: Lister Community School

Supplemental funding agreement: Portway Primary School

Supplemental funding agreement: Rokeby School

Supplemental funding agreement: Sarah Bonnell School

Supplemental funding agreement: Selwyn Primary School

Scheme of delegation

Our scheme of delegation details how accountability and decision making are structured across our Trust.  An overview of our oversight arrangements can be found on the Structures and Oversight page.

As a Trust, we are registered at Company’s House, and are subject to the provisions of company law in England and Wales.  Our Articles of Association specify the regulations which our Trust operates under, and defines our purpose.  They also lay out how we are to achieve our stated aims, and contain provisions for the appointment of trustees.

Our scheme of delegation is based on our articles, and also reflects our agreed principles and our operation as a partnership of schools.  The scheme is kept under review in order that our decision making and our structures best support our objectives.  A number of documents form our scheme of delegation; these are grouped below for ease of reference.
